SUBSTANCE: invention relates to personal identification and may be used in criminalistics, law enforcement bodies etc. Its usage when scanning of skin lines allows for obtaining a reliable and complete outline of skin lines. The method involves putting the analysed body part with the scanned outline of skin lines onto an arched base, optically transparent to the scanning radiation, scanning the analysed body part using a beam of scanning radiation from a radiation source through the arched base and reception the reflected radiation using a receiver.

EFFECT: due to that the to the arched base is moved relative the beam of scanning radiation, the analysed body part is put onto the arched base with formation of contact between them and provides for co-synchronous movement of the analysed body part and the arched base relative the beam of scanning radiation.
