FIELD: physics; image processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical imaging of papillary patterns and can be used in criminalistics for identifying persons. In the method, the analysed body part in contact with the surface of a fixed total internal reflection prism is stretched on this surface, while synchronously recording the image of the fragment of the analysed body part in contact with the prism and the value and direction of movement of the analysed body part relative the prism.
EFFECT: use of the method enables use of significantly smaller and cheaper optical components in devices for realising the method.
