METHOD OF PREDICTION OF DEVELOPMENT OF POSTOPERATIVE HEPATIC FAILURE IN PATIENTS WITH MECHANICAL JAUNDICE Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC A61B5/53

Abstract RU 2357663 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention pertains to medicine and is intended for prediction of development of postoperative hepatic failure in patients with mechanical jaundice. Arterial-sinusoidal perfusion is detected in the examined person. Therefore measuring electrodes are applied in the zone of main liver area; inter-electrode space and square area of the body of the examined person are measured. Functional test with passive venous return through raising low extremities at an angle of 30° within 1 minute is performed. In a minute after termination of the test hepatic index (HI), index of fluid volume in hepatic sinusoids (IFVHS) are calculated. Based on the received values arterialisation index of hepatic sinusoids (AIHS) is calculated; and with AIHS value equal to or less than 0.34 units development of postoperative hepatic failure is predicted.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to predict development of postoperative hepatic failure after surgeries in patients with cholelithiasis complicated by mechanical jaundice.
