MODULAR-TYPE MACHINE FOR ITEMS MANUFACTURE FROM BARS Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC B23Q39/00

Abstract RU 2357849 C2

FIELD: mechanics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine engineering, particularly to machines designed for items manufacturing from bars. The modular-type machine for mechanical items processing from bars contains basis with spindle units being mounted on it together with feed drive. The basis is implemented as a frame with two supports. Multi-position drum with horizontal axis of rotation is placed between supports and implemented so that it can rotate and fix its position. The multi-position drum has clamping mechanism with cradles for items being machined. The following elements are mounted on the basis: a bar feeder in loading position along drum rotation axis at one side of the drum and a stop for limiting axial movement of bar during loading at the other side of the drum. There is also a bar cutting mechanism mounted on a separate additional support. The modular-type machine is provided with drives for clamping mechanisms and stops for adjusting machined items ends position when they are machined in different positions. Both clamping mechanisms and stops are installed on supports. Each clamping mechanism is implemented with spring-loaded rod directed to the side of machined item. It is provided with lead-in chamfer at the end directed to the said item and with screw shank at the opposite end. The clamping mechanism is interconnected with the above mentioned screw shank of the mechanism adjusting axial rod position and effort of this mechanism pressing to the machined items. The adjustment mechanism is represented with a hollow screw and nut provided with check nuts. The multi-position drum is provided with an open-end hole, which is parallel to drum axis in order to accommodate bars. The radial hole with threaded end crosses the above mentioned hole. The screw shank is installed in radial hole of multi-position drum. The hollow screw is threaded into the radial hole, while the nut with check nut is threaded onto the screw shank of the rod extending the limits of the said hollow screw. The clamping mechanisms drives are represented with hydraulic cylinders installed on one of the supports and set to machining position so that they can interact with clamping mechanism rods in a fixed position of multi-position drum through the double-arm lever provided in hollows of drum sides. Bar cutting facility is represented with cutting head, while spindle units with feed drives are installed at both end sides of the drum.

EFFECT: machining of bar items with automatic bar feeding and possibility of machined items ends position adjustment along axis at different stages of machining.
