FIELD: physics; measurement.
SUBSTANCE: present invention can be used in inspection technology for determining the physical state and quality of an oil and gas product, passing through a main pipeline. In the device a system for transmitting electromagnetic radiation is made in form of a ring waveguide made from dielectric material, tightly encircling the pipe, forming a pair of coupled lines with it. The ends of the waveguide are provided with extra crossover waveguides, made from metal with cross dimensions equal to those of the ring waveguide and length, not less than the occurrence depth of the pipeline, the inputs of which are connected to the output of a generator and input of the receiver respectively, placed on ground surface.
EFFECT: increased accuracy and measuring sensitivity.
