SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to computer systems, particularly to providing information on location of a computer system and computer devices. The method involves reception of a request in the context of location of a computer device, collection of data related to the current location from position finding devices, correlating collected data pertaining to possible deviations from the current location through processing collected data and generation of a location object, accessible for applications. A carrier contains a component for controlling location for routing location data, a link processor for receiving messages on location, generated from the location data, coordination of discrepancies between location messages and location object generation, and programming interfaces of location applications for transmitting the location object from the link processor to the application.
EFFECT: provision of information, making it possible to work with different types of services from providers, providing for information on location.
