SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to an optical protective element. The optical protective element has a substrate layer, in which on sections in region (2) of the surface, the first microstructure is formed for generating the first optically detected effect. The region (2) of the surface is divided into microscopic sections (21-40) of a sample and a background area (20). The first microstructure (17) is formed on sections (21-40) of the sample, but not in the background area. The microscopic sections (21-40) of the sample lie in the region (2) of the surface in form of a moir sample, in which is encoded concealed information, evaluated using the corresponding verifying element, in form of a protective feature. Microscopic sections (21-40) of the sample are also structured in accordance with a sub-structuring function, which describes the microscopic sub-structuring of the moir sample as an extra protective feature.
EFFECT: increased protection of the optical protective element from forgery.
