SUBSTANCE: security element, especially valuable document, with a pattern region, consisting of one or more elements of composition, forming of which provides first optically perceived information, and a background area surrounding at least on sections one or more elements of composition of pattern region. Security element has an opaque reflecting layer, which is provided in first zones of pattern field or is provided in one or more second zones of pattern field, wherein first zone are spaced apart by less than 300 mcm from each other and have minimum size of less than 300 mcm. Security element has a decorative layer to generate second optical data, which covers both pattern field and background area at least in sections, decorative layer with respect to direction of viewing security element is located under transparent reflecting layer, and all layers of security element arranged between opaque reflecting layer and a decorative layer are transparent or translucent.
