FIELD: mechanics.

SUBSTANCE: proposed chuck comprises a casing and rotary that rests axially upon cam holder arranged on the said casing. The said cam holder houses tightening cams fitted in the guide slots to tighten and loose the drill via turning relative to the casing and conical screw wedge. The chuck incorporates also a locking device with a toothed rim coaxial to the chuck axis and a retainer spring-loaded towards the said toothed rim and resting upon the cam holder. Aforesaid locking device serves to lock the said casing and retainer prohibiting the turn towards the cam release direction but allowing the turn towards the locking direction. The chuck comprises a release ring arranged coaxially to its axis and to be turned from outside. The said ring embraces the cam holder to move the retainer between the positions of in- and out of the said toothed rim. The conical screw wedge rear end is located nearby the release ring and rigidly jointed to the cam holder. The release ring radial inner surface features a control cam to change the retainer from the in-rim position to out-of-rim position, with the release rim turning in direction that allows releasing the tightening cams.
