FIELD: instrument engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention can also be used for performing analysis in various industries and in ecology of proton-containing liquid matters in order to determine sulphur concentration therein. Monitoring method of total sulphur in oil and oil products involves collection of averaged sample, sample movement to constant magnetic field, excitation in sample of signals of spin-echo proton magnetic resonance with series of radiofrequency pulses; at that, there measured are intervals of spin-spin relaxation T2i of proton phases, and sulphur concentration in oil, fuel oil and bitumen is determined according to the proposed formula.
EFFECT: decreasing measurement time, increasing upper limit of the range of sulphur concentrations being measured, and independence of measurements from concentration of water and impurities.
