FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the method of hexafluorobutadiene preparation by the dechlorination of 1,2,3,4-tetrachlorohexafluorobutane with zinc carried out in the solution - aqueous-alcoholic azeotrope. Usually the alcohols with good water solubility are used, more often the ethyl and isopropyl alcohols. The process is carried out by the way of even dosage of 1,2,3,4-tetrachlorohexafluorobutane to the mixture of aqueous-alcoholic azeotrope with zinc at temperature range from 40°C to the solvent boiling temperature (preferentially 45-70°C) with simultaneous extraction of evolving hexafluorobutadiene. The aqueous-alcoholic azeotrope can be separated from reaction mass after reaction completing and used once more.
EFFECT: substantial simplification of the process and obtaining of the pure hexafluorobutadiene.
