FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: probe (18) with grouped radiators is divided into several linear virtual probes (20, 22, 24) located directly behind each other, each of which comprises part of elements of probe (18) with grouped radiators. After that at least one ultrasound signal is transmitted and received using at least two virtual probes (20, 22, 24) directed to/from a separate test section of a surface.
EFFECT: provision for fast and reliable examination with improved determination of the size of the defect, location and orientation of defects of turbine structural members.
