FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: probe (2) is placed inside an opening (26) and moved in an axial direction (L). The probe (2) has a plurality of sensor rings (81-88) lying in the axial direction (L) one after the other and at a distance from each other, said rings lying in a plane perpendicular to the axial direction (L), and a plurality of ultrasonic transducers (10) lying at a distance from each other. The ultrasonic transducers (10) lie in a segment (30) corresponding to the sensor ring (81-88), which, in a direction on the periphery of the corresponding sensor ring (81-88), lies on at least one section of the periphery of the corresponding sensor ring (81-88). To perform ultrasonic flaw detection of the analysed object (6), an ultrasonic test pulse coming from ultrasonic transducers (10) of the segment (30) of the sensor ring (81-88) is transmitted to the analysed object (6). A plurality of echo signals (20) are then received by first and second ultrasonic transducers (10), said ultrasonic transducers lying at a distance from each other. The echo signals (20) result from reflection of the transmitted ultrasonic test pulse from the same defect (16) in the analysed object (6).
EFFECT: faster inspection of an analysed object having a drilled hole passing in the axial direction, high reliability when detecting and analysing defects.
