FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus has the following components: at least one testing head for transmitting ultrasonic waves and for measuring ultrasonic waves reflected from the test object, receiving device (30) for the testing head, at least one movable carriage (14) on which the testing head is mounted or which allows installation of the testing head, and a gaunt board (22) for directing the carriage (14), which is matched or can be matched with the structure of the surface of the test object, where the carriage (14) can move along the board (22), and the testing head can move relative the carriage (14). The testing head and the carriage (14) are connected to each other using at least one reciprocal device with facilitation of automatic return of the receiving device (30) to the middle position using the reciprocal device.
EFFECT: improved positioning of the testing head.
