FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technique of high-current electronic beams generation with big area of cross section. The invention may be used for exciting inducing heavy-duty gas lasers and in other process such as modification of item surface, radiation technology and gas cleaning. The source of electrons consists of a cathode, anode and foil inserted into vacuum chamber. The foil is located between cathode and anode and blocks the electronic beam along the whole cross section. The foil is separated into sections. The foil sections being under high density electronic beam are heated, where as other foil sections having low-density current have heat contact with anode.
EFFECT: high evenness of current density distribution along anode surface.
