SUBSTANCE: in the body of a sensor (10), with several natural vibration modes, with possibility of vibration under the effect of an exciting mechanism (60), there is at least one pipe (4) with a sensor device for generating at least one signal for measuring vibrations of the pipe, through which the measured medium flows. To suppress at least one natural vibration mode of the body (10), at least one bearing element (13a) is fastened to it, which creates local fixed vibration nodes in the body (10). The external vibration system of the sensor is made from the body of the sensor and at least one bearing element, and the inner vibration system is made from at least one pipe (4) of the sensor, the measured medium and at least part of the exciting mechanism (60) and the sensor device (70). During operation of the measuring sensor the inner vibration system executes mechanical vibrations with at least one desirable frequency (Fn), which depends on the size, shape and material of the pipe (4), as well as instantaneous density of the medium, and is measured during operation of the sensor within a predefined frequency range (ΔFn).
EFFECT: provision for high accuracy of measurement using vibration type sensors with nominal diameters of over 150 mm, while preserving already stable and tested structural shapes.
