FIELD: physics; measurement.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to investigating physicochemical properties and electronic structure of substances, and more specifically to investigating parametres of interatomic interactions of Van der Waals systems. The method is based on establishing the relationship between energy of interatomic interactions and distance between the atoms. Atomic radius is measured, which determines the longest distance of outer shell electrons from the nucleus, and van der Waals atomic radius, equal to half the distance between nuclei of neighbouring atoms of the substance in condensed state. The relationship between energy of interatomic interactions and the distance between atoms is determined, presented by a potential function with a specific formula.
EFFECT: more accurate description of systems.
