FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of radiochemistry. Essence of invention: method of obtaining isotopes of gold without carrier lies in the following: metallic mercury is irradiated with low-energy protons and target substance is distilled in hydrogen atmosphere with isolation of non-volatile products of nuclear transformations, including gold isotopes on quartz sand surface. Obtained initial radioactive sample is moved into start zone of quartz thermochromatographic column (TCC) and is heated in flow of inert gas, for instance helium, containing arsenic vapours. In tempering microquantities of gold in presence of said reagent, volatile arsenide is formed, which in gas flow is transported along TCC and adsorbed on its walls at definite temperature. Isolation of gold isotopes according to claimed method is selective since accompanying gold, isotopes of most of other radioelements contained in initial sample do not form volatile arsenides (with exception of silver and rhenium). Reduction of silver and rhenium isotope concentration in target product is achieved due to selected mode of target irradiation, as well as a result of lower volatility of gold arsenide in comparison with volatility of silver and rhenium arsenides.
EFFECT: advantage of invention lies in increase of radiochemical purity of gold isotopes.
