FIELD: production of carrier-free radioactive isotopes and construction of isotope generators. SUBSTANCE: method involves reactor or cyclotron irradiation of metal matrix followed by extraction of daughter carrier-free radionuclide obtained from parent radionuclide with change in nucleus charge. Irradiated metal matrix is then subjected to heat treatment in inert environment at temperature not lower than polymorphic transformation point of metal within time period required for radioactive atom impurities resulting from nuclear transformation to transfer to gaseous phase. Daughter radioactive atoms escaping the matrix are condensed and then extracted by means of chemical agent chosen considering condensate properties. EFFECT: facilitated procedure.
