METHOD OF TREATING UNSTABLE COMMINUTED EXTRA-ARTICULAR FRACTURES OF PROXIMAL PART OF FEMORAL BONE Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC A61B17/58 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to traumatology and orthopedics and is intended for treatment of unstable comminuted extra-articular fractures of proximal part of femoral bone. Through fracture region into had of femoral bone three transosseous spongious pins are introduced. First pin is led on femoral bone neck along Adams's arch from subtrochanteric region. Then second pin is led in direction from outside inside, from the up downward, from the front backwards through greater trochanter. Third pin is introduced in direction from outside inside from the up downward from the front backwards. Free ends of pins are fixed on proximal sector of apparatus of external fixation, space position of pins forms two force pyramids whose apexes join in projection of femoral bone neck, and bases form equilateral triangles. Then into proximal third of femoral bone diaphysis on lateral surface at different angles in different planes two transosseous cortical rods are led and fixed on distal sector of apparatus. Sectors are joined by means of 3-4 threaded rods. Method insures increase of fixation rigidity, prevention of secondary displacement of fragments, reduction of treatment terms.

EFFECT: increase of fixation rigidity, prevention of secondary displacement of fragments, reduction of treatment terms.
