PROFILING METHOD OF WORKING ROLLERS OF STRIP MILL Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC B21B27/02

FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: roll is profiled subject to heating and elastic deformation with specified initial mould forming in the form of smooth curve with symmetrical additional cavities. Right and left cavities are conjugated to each other in the middle of roller. On roller outside its working section there are implemented swellings relative to initial form of profile swellings. Swellings are conjugated with mentioned cavities into smooth concavo-convex curve, located specular relative to equal curve of thermal profile. Initial generatrix of profile is implemented in the form of parabola. Working length of roller is accepted on the assumption of width, which allows strips, compounding maximal percent of whole range of mill. Active generatrix of roller corresponds parabola, that to the best advantage agrees to the standards of rolling technology.

EFFECT: increasing of deformation evenness by strip width and by means of it accuracy of its transverse profile.
