FIELD: railroad transport.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method of setting high-speed railroad train motion consists in accelerating the train to 250 km/h and increasing train speed to 420 to 430 km/h. At the same time note that the locomotive aerodynamic nose and train car side panels geometry is changed by extending, on the sides, side wings perpendicular to side walls of the latter. The locomotive side wings are supplemented by its nose smoothly easing to the wings lengthwise part, the wings being arranged tilted upward at 2° to 8° to locomotive tail. The side wings of the cars are arranged with reverse inclination to the car tail to allow wings width increase at the car front part. On approaching railroad destination station, first, the train speed is decreased to 250 to 270 km/h, locomotive and cars side wings are retracted and the train is stopped. Note that the wheel flange height of car rear wheel pairs is twice as high compared with standard value, while the rails joints are arranged at an acute angle to the rail lengthwise axis.
EFFECT: expanded range of train speed control performances.
