SUBSTANCE: invention relates to writable recording medium. The multilayer recording medium is meant for recording information by recording marks which are addressed units on a track. Each recording layer has a pre-formed structure for controlling recording for indicating a track. This structure contains physical addresses, which indicate physical position of a physical address relative the initial point of the track. A predefined number physical address binary bits shows physical position relative the initial point on the track. At least one address binary bit from the said predefined number of physical address binary bits is given as a binary bit of an address layer, which has a value which indicates the recording layer, and at least one binary bit of the address layer corresponds to the most significant binary bit of physical address.

EFFECT: multilayer optical disc with layer indication.
