FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the method for workpieces making of W-type single- and multimode fiber light guides. The method is implemented by the plasmochemical precipitation of the deeply depressed fluorosilicate shell SiO2-F with (Δn=-2.5%) and quartz core to the inner surface of optically pure support tube which surface beforehand undergoes chemical, flame and microwave plasma treatment (using "cold", non-equilibrium, evenly ionised reduced pressure microwave plasma). The gas mixtures O2 and SiCl4+C3F8 (reflecting shell), then SiCl4+O2 (core) are supplied successively into the tube. The method is implemented with the help of device having the device for microwave radiation input with rotation of polarisation plane or polariser mounted in front of plasmotron entrance. The source of microwave energy is wide-band transistor amplifier with electrically tunable driving oscillator and electrically controlled afile:///C:\\Temp\\Word_2 mounted between amplifier and oscillator.

EFFECT: efficiency enhancing of the fabrication process of light guides having the necessary refractive index profile.
