FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to modular rolling mill. Modular rolling mill contains large number of separate rolling mills with driving rollers, configuration and layout of which provides gradual reduction of cross-section area of profiled iron produced on rolling mill train. Units of gear sets are mechanically connected with each rolling mill. At the same time, each of these gear set units in its turn is mechanically connected with driven transmission shaft via corresponding bevel gearings. Gear ratios of the first gear sets are gradually increasing with passing to each of the subsequent gear set units starting from the first of them up to the last. In consequence of this it becomes possible to gradually increase the speed of rolled profile iron moving. The presence of the second bevel gearing is provided which gearing is interconnected with the last gear set unit. The gear ratio of the second bevel gearing is equal to the gear ratio of the first bevel gearing of the second to last gear set unit. It is possible to selectively connect transmission shaft to the last gear set unit via either of two (the first and the second) of bevel gearings available in it.
EFFECT: possibility is provided to increase dimensions of rolled iron in one group, and intensive cooling is achieved in sections between individual rolling mills when thermomechanical treatment of rolled iron is performed.
