METHOD OF HIGH-SPEED CRUISING AND SHIP TO THIS END (VERSIONS) Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC B63H1/02 B63H1/12 B63H1/14

Abstract RU 2364544 C2

FIELD: ship building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates high-speed ship. Proposed method of high-speed cruising consists in lifting the ship hull above water surface and thrusting it by propulsors so that propulsor lift vector is directed vertically upwards and can depart from the vertical line. Proposed high-speed ship can be available in three versions. Known ship comprises the hull, aerodynamic stabilising skeg, retractable keel and rudder, engine-rooms, deck house, fuel tank, engine, ship automatic rocking stabilisation system and air tube. In compliance with the first version, proposed ship differs from known designs in that it incorporates two and more propellers, each provided with gimbal joint and attached to ship hull, bottom or sides with their legs directed vertically upward so that the point of total lift vector is located on vertical axis of ship gravity. In compliance with the second version, it incorporates two and more propulsors representing a water jet with nozzle seating in water. Propulsor consists of water jet tube, water suction duct with grating, shaft with blade mechanism arranged vertically, movable nozzle with straightening vanes arranged inside water jet tube. Water jet tube chamber communicates with water surface via movable pipe fitted into fixed one to regulate distance between ship hull bottom and water surface. In compliance with the third version, proposed ship differs in that its propulsor represents a water jet with above-water nozzle.

EFFECT: higher speed, economy, maneuverability and comfort.
