FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ferrous metallurgy particularly dealing with cast iron compositions. The proposed material is to be used for manufacture of brake assembly components. The cast iron composition (wt %) is as follows: carbon - 1.8-2.2%; silica - 2.0-2.4%; manganese - 24.0-26.0%; aluminium - 8.5-10.5%; vanadium 0.7-1.1%; calcium 0.06-0.08%; germanium - 0.002-0.003%; selenium - 0.002-0.003%; nitrogen - 0.002-0.003%; iron -balance.
EFFECT: enhanced wear resistance of cast iron.
