FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, particularly to eddy-current device to be used in, primarily, converter transformers and variable-current HF reactors. Proposed cylindrical magnetic core has two cylindrical parts, i.e. upper and lower. Upper and lower part cylinders are made up of equal number of structural elements, each representing a sector and having two lateral radial planes converging, on one side, with the cylinder axis. One of the lateral (radial) planes of structural elements features a cutout. Structural elements of the core upper and lower cylindrical parts have cutouts of opposite lateral sides and are laid in pairs, one onto another, on the side cutouts, to get aligned to form through grooves for electrical windings. Free surfaces of every pair are overlapped by other free surfaces of structural elements. Magnetic core can be supplemented by outer bent around part representing a hollow cylinder.
EFFECT: reduced losses, weight and sizes, ease of assembly.
