FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to eddy-current devices, mainly to transformers and linear AC current limiters. The device includes the armoured core including rod, transverse and side yokes. Rod and side yoke are made in form of hollow cylindrical magnetic cores wound using magnetic tape. The transverse yokes include several trapezoidal parts distributed over the end face of the device magnetic system, they are wound using magnetic tape. In the rod core along its axis the nonmagnetic break is made, it is located against joint of any two parts of cores of the transverse yokes. The rod core is wound using isotropic magnetic tape. The isotropic magnetic material can be used to wound the cores of the transverse and side yokes also.

EFFECT: decreasing of the machine idle current and losses in the magnetic material.
