SUBSTANCE: proposed is a master device, configured for reading and recording information from and to a card, and for providing supply voltage, belonging to the first voltage range or second voltage range, which is lower than the first range, and gives the card a voltage identification command. The voltage identification command includes a section for identifying voltage range, a section for detection of errors and a section for checking combination. The section for identifying voltage range includes information which indicates which one of the first and second voltage ranges belongs to the supply voltage. The section for detecting errors has a combination which is configured such that the card, which received a voltage identification command, can detect errors in the voltage identification command. The section for checking combination has a preset combination.
