FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method includes treatment of contaminated water medium with active charcoal obtained by aspen wood pyrolysis with its following activation by hydrogen peroxide during 5-10 min. The consumption of active charcoal is 1 g/ per 100 ml of water medium.
EFFECT: possibility of prompt and quality benzene sorption from water media and decrease of purification process labour input.
