FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of obtaining carbon adsorbent includes carbonisation of crushed birch wood at 300-800°C in inert medium. After carbonisation carbonisate is kept at final temperature for 30 minutes. After that, carbonisate of birch wood is mixed with betulinol in ratio, equal 4:1, fused at 400-450°C, and activated. Activation is carried out in argon atmosphere in presence of hard potassium hydroxide at temperature rise to 800°C. After activation it is kept at final temperature for 60 min. Product is washed with acid solution, then water at temperature 50°C and dried.
EFFECT: improvement of carbon sorbent characteristics with respect to low-molecular components of gas mixtures.
