FIELD: heating, drying.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns wood processing and can be particularly applied in lumber drying. Method involves: stacking of several board packs, each pack containing at least two board layers. Separation elements in the form of planks are sandwiched between boards in packs. Resistance film electric heating units are used as flat heating elements, each unit fixated with tension at the mid-height line along the perimetre of rectangular perforated frame commensurate to the stack. Frames with heating units are positioned between packs and stowed tightly together to overlap the whole area of each pack. One row of flat heating elements with solid surface is put in the stack basement and on the stack top surface across the whole stack area, with metal sheet reflectors, such as Penofol insulation material of foil and polymer foam, directed to the stack. Drying is performed continuously by dry heating at 45-50°C, supplying voltage to heating elements for 95-100 hours. Extraction ventilation is activated for 10-20 minutes each hour. The process is monitored by temperature and humidity sensors, and decision on finished drying is made by humidity sensor.
EFFECT: simplified drying method with reduced power consumption and high drying quality.
