FIELD: woodworking industry.

SUBSTANCE: method of drying lumber comprises stacking the lumber layers in the stacks, the installation between the layers of spacing elements in the form of rails, the installation of flat infrared emitters, supplying power to them, and drying the lumber with temperature control and removal of moisture, and the installation of flat infrared emitters is carried out at least between each layer of the lumber, then over the surface of the upper lumber layer of the stack the heat insulating material is laid with a gap, then along the perimeter of the sides at a distance preventing the contact of the stack, the circuit covering the stack is made, and the removal of moisture during drying is carried out by condensing its vapours and subsequent flowing off on the lateral surfaces of the contour. At present, at the enterprise the prototypes of infrared emitters are produced and the experimental implementation of the proposed method of drying lumber of different moisture capacity, wood species, length and thickness is performed.

EFFECT: reduction of costs of electricity, improvement of quality of the final product and enhancing the technological capabilities.
