SUBSTANCE: invention relates to textile industry, precisely to methods for determining quality of fiber and bast of bast-fiber crop, as well as to estimation of their flexibility. The method for flexibility estimation of fiber or bast of bast-fiber crop includes preparation of sample by fixing it in cantilever fashion in a gripe, testing when cantilevered parts of fibers are exposed to increasing loading by pressing them in axial direction, and flexibility of fiber is estimated according to pressing force when pitch stability of fibers is loosen.
EFFECT: simplification of analysis and enhancement of accuracy and information content of testing results when estimating flexibility of fiber or bast of bast-fiber crops are ensured.
