SUBSTANCE: invention relates to textile materials science, namely to methods for controlling the quality parameters of fiber or bast of bast crops. Essence: the formation of a sample, fixing one of its ends in one of the clamps, combing the fiber at the free end, breaking the sample and determining the breaking load, and the sample is clamped at a constant width and first in stages, one end is performed, and after combing the fibers in the free from the clamp section, the other end, and combing the fiber in the free section is carried out by longitudinal movement of needles relative to the fibers by a constant amount and outside the inter-clamping zone.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of determining the breaking load of the bast fiber under uniaxial tension.
