FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: description is given of a method of obtaining latex with carbonyl functional groups through treatment of latex with ozone-containing gaseous mixture, based on diene hydrocarbons or their copolymers with monoolefins or unsaturated acids or natural rubber latex, distinguished by that, latex is treated with ozone-containing gas mixture in mass ratio unsaturated polymer : ozone = 100.0 : (0.5-2.0) at temperature 3-20°C in the presence of formaldehyde-sulphoxylate or sodium sulphite reducing agents in molar ratio ozone : reducing agent = 1.0 : (0.3-8) with subsequent maturing of the modified latex for 1-3 hours at temperature 40-80°C and pH 8.0-11.0.

EFFECT: obtained latex has good adhesive properties, which are used as the base for high-performance adhesives for treating fibre material, in production of tyres and rubber goods.
