FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to inputting information on a surveillance object into a tracking system computer and is meant for assigning initial conditions for automatic determination of coordinates of objects after processing and analysing image data of these objects from a series of television and/or thermal images. Each of the devices for processing input data from the video camera of the tracking system, for inputting information on the surveillance object into the tracking system computer, has a unit for initialisation, synchronisation and reception of video data, unit for detecting, identifying and determining characteristics of image segments, unit for determining significance and ranking image segments, unit for forming images on the display of the operator, unit for interaction with the operator and tracking system computer. The methods describe operation of the said devices.
EFFECT: more reliable input of information on a selected surveillance object into a computer, increased reliability of further automatic tracking the object in given time limits for inputting information on the surveillance object.
