FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises removal of stock by moving axially cutting head relative to machined surface. Aforesaid cutting head has radially moved cutting tools arranged between front and rear guides, front guide being oriented towards the surface to be machined during touching, while rear guide is oriented relative to guide sleeve to be mounted, prior to touching, at such a distance from the face of the surface to be machined, that allow front guide coming out of the channel. Rear guide assembly is oriented with respect to guide sleeve and surface to be machined.
EFFECT: higher quality of machined grooves.
