SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the qualimetry of textile raw material and can be used in selection at creating new fiber flax grades. Method of evaluating fiber flax fiber quality according to morphological characteristics involves preparation of stems, definition of morphological characteristics and their analysis. At defining the morphological characteristics the internode length is measured, leaf trace and stem diametre in the top, middle and butt parts are measured as well; at analysing the characteristics of every stem part the circumference in the diametre measurement point is determined and the relation of leaf trace width to the circumference is specified; the fiber quality is evaluated by the average relation of the leaf trace width to the stem circumference considering the average internode length.

EFFECT: proposed method is simple, does not involve great expenditures when implemented and allows for the increase of the information value of the quality evaluation and its efficiency.
