FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: method of harvesting and obtaining flax straw involves moving a machine unit over the field, combing the stems of their apex sections for removal of seeds from them; after combing seed bolls, flax stems are left on the field for autumn-winter period to produce straw; then, in spring, after snow melts and soil is ready for harvesting machines to move thereon, the straw stems are separated from the soil, dragged into a swath and the swath of straw stems is removed from the field.
EFFECT: improvement of quality of stems of straw, as well as expansion of possibilities for mechanization of harvesting processes due to use of not only specialized equipment for flax harvesting, but other equipment used, for example, during harvesting of grain crops.
