FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves laying hole-type nursery under field conditions; sowing seeds by square pocket method (2.5x2.5 cm); selecting plants and performing evaluation. After harvesting, average weight of seed in flax balls of each plant is determined and variation coefficient is used as evaluation criterion. Variation coefficient is calculated from formula: 100%, where V is variation coefficient, σ - is average square deviation, is average value of seed weight of all plants. Homogeneity level is regarded as high, when variation coefficient is less than 6, as satisfactory in case variation coefficient is 6-8, and insufficient in case variation coefficient exceeds 8. EFFECT: increased efficiency of seed kind control at initial seed growing stage and simplified method. 3 tbl
