FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to powder metallurgy, particularly to production of semi-finished articles out of granules of magnesium and its alloys. The invention can be implemented for production of items applied in machine engineering, instrument engineering, motor industry, rocket production, aircraft and construction. A casing under effect of vibration is filled with granules of magnesium alloy of 0.3-3 mm dimension, is vacuumised, placed in the container of the press and briquetted with maximal load of the press. Further the casing is turned; the container is heated to not more, than 350°C and compacted at ratio of drawing not less 20 and rate of compaction not more 1.0 m/min.
EFFECT: improved quality of compacted item out of granules of magnesium alloys; reduced gas saturation.
