FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly to strengthening of spherical surfaces of parts. Rotary motion is imparted to billet, while rotary motion and crosswise feed are imparted tool holder. Used tool represents a hub-like tool with radial slots. Each tool is arranged in two flat plate springs in the casing radial slots. Deforming tools represent plates with working surface concaved inside and opposite to machined spherical surface. Working surface of deforming tools is discontinuous with alternating ledges and recesses. Ledge length exceeds that of recesses, the ledges being arranged in symmetry with the plane crossing the center of machined spherical surface and perpendicular to tool rotational axis.
EFFECT: expanded performances, higher efficiency and lower costs.
