FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to servicing of railway rolling stock. Lubricant is forced via filling pipe into operating and spare chambers of axle bearing filling boxes with the help of pump from filling tank. Lubricant is fed to the lower edge of filling pipe to fill remaining spaces of chambers, which is judged upon from pressure surge in hydraulic line pickup. Lubricant feed is stopped, excess lubricant in 1400 to 1600 g - operating chamber is pumped from the box into tank for settling or regeneration.
EFFECT: reduced lubricant losses thanks to metered filling of operating and spare chambers.
