FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention covers glass sheets separation with the help of torch. Proposed method comprises engraving a scratch of glass sheet nearby the point of imaginary separation line. Note here the aforesaid scratch makes the point of crack initiation. Then glass sheet is heated along aforesaid line by torch flame to 130°C or higher. Note also that the relationship between average temperature on both sheet 10 mm-wide edges, with center nearby imaginary separation line, and maximum temperature, immediately after heating, makes at least 45%. Then, mist is used for local cooling of heated glass sheet part, 1 mm- to 20 mm-wide, along aforesaid imaginary line which is smaller than the flame width, to form the crack from the said scratch along imaginary line of sheet glass separation into separate sheets. Proposed device comprises cutting tool to make a scratch, torch to heat glass sheet and cooling nozzle to produce mist.
EFFECT: higher quality, lower costs.
