FIELD: oil and gas production.
SUBSTANCE: here are disclosed power cylinder for generating additional force in piston shearing screw thread dies in blowout preventor and corresponding preventor. An additional power cylinder applied in the hydraulic plunger consists of a case secured to the hydraulic plunger, of the first and the second chambers assembled in the case and isolated one from another by means of a piston of the power cylinder, of a rod connected to the working piston of the hydraulic plunger and running through the first chamber and of the piston of the power cylinder coming into at least part of the second section; the piston of the power cylinder is engaged with the rod and is disconnected from it by means of a gripping device. The hydraulic plunger is controlled by force from the run of the working piston and by additional force from the run of the piston of the power cylinder.
EFFECT: possibility to double force of standard hydraulic plunger and optimise tube shearing load.
