FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: disk with reference moment of inertia is fitted on the hub of dismantled driving wheel at operating temperatures of lubrication and transmission oils. ICE moment of inertia is defined as the product of the ratio of angular acceleration of rotary components, the engine being thrown in straight gear, vs angular acceleration of aforesaid components at the their moment of inertia. ICE moment of inertia is taken to equal to the ratio of the ratio of angular acceleration of rotary components, the engine being thrown in straight gear, at the moment of inertia of the disk with reference moment of inertia, vs angular acceleration of rotary components, the engine being thrown in straight gear of gear box.

EFFECT: possibility to determine moment of inertia without removing ICE from vehicle.
