FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in making catalysts, catalyst carriers and sorbents. A substrate made from titanium or its alloy is subjected to plasma-electrochemical treatment in galvanostatic mode with unipolar or pulsed current with effective density of 5 to 15 A/dm2 for 10-50 minutes. The electrolyte used is an aqueous solution containing zirconium sulphate Zr(SO4)2·4H2O and soluble polyphosphate in molar ratio polyphosphate anion/zirconium cation equal to 0.5 to 3.0. The soluble polyphosphate used is sodium hexametaphosphate Na6P6O18 or sodium tripolyphosphate Na3P5O10.
EFFECT: obtaining a thin layer of zirconium pyrophosphate in a single stage.
