FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing polyester product from ethylene oxide and carboxylic acid. A method is described for producing polyethyleneterephthalate, involving bringing terephthalic acid into contact with ethylene oxide in a reactor in the presence of a solvent and base catalyst, obtaining partially esterified terephthalic acid, where the said ethylene oxide and terephthalic acid are taken in molar ratio of ranging from 0.5:1 to less than 1:1, and subsequent reaction of the said partially esterified terephthalic acid with a diol, obtaining the end product.
EFFECT: obtaining end product using simple technology with conversion of about 96%.
